Job Summary
The Planning Engineer will develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, resources, and progress measurements for offshore and onshore construction projects. The role supports delivery in line with contract requirements, project milestones, and client expectations.
Responsibilities
**Planning and Scheduling **
- Develop Level 1 to Level 4 project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), activity codes, and schedule logic.
- Prepare baseline, revised, and recovery schedules.
- Develop execution plans covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Monitor critical and near-critical paths and recommend corrective actions.
**Progress Monitoring and Control **
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against approved baselines.
- Measure physical progress by discipline, area, and activity.
- Update schedules weekly and prepare progress reports.
- Maintain progress S-curves, manpower histograms, and productivity reports.
- Analyze schedule variances and develop mitigation plans.
Resource Planning and Coordination
- Develop manpower loading plans for offshore and onshore activities.
- Prepare equipment deployment schedules and logistics plans.
- Coordinate resource requirements with project management, construction, procurement, and subcontractor teams.
- Support effective use of manpower, marine spreads, and construction equipment.
Required Reports and Deliverables
- Weekly and monthly progress reports
- Two-week, four-week, and eight-week look-ahead schedules
- Recovery plans and critical path analysis reports
- Manpower histograms and progress S-curves
- Schedule risk assessments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, including at least 3 years in offshore oil and gas projects.
- Experience on Saudi Aramco projects is preferred.
- Experience in brownfield shutdowns, hook-up, commissioning, and offshore construction activities is highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Primavera P6 proficiency is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong ability to analyze schedules, measure progress, and communicate project risks and recovery actions.
